Finland_Norway Dec 2017

It was a holiday which mummy was looking forward to and planned 1 year in advance. It is the most exotic and further destination which we were went as a family. Preparation for the winter started many months ahead of the departure. It is truly a memorable trip which all of us enjoyed.

Cycling & Swimming

Riding bicycle and swimming are skills which mummy think are important for survival and for social. It bothers me that you have not mastered these 2 skills last year as kids your age are already good at it. This year, your school started swim saver course and with little swimming experience you had, you managed to learn how to learn after 3 lessons (Q1 2017). Hooray...1 milestone achieved.

On 10 May 2017, we went to Bishan Park with Chooi Yee Ah yee and family. Uncle Leng Hong brought bicycles for Hanah and Sarah. You borrowed their bicycles to try and you can ride it immediately. Mummy was very impressed with your ability to learn new skills.

You had a good time in the park, playing with other's pet and Hanah.

After learning how to ride, you were keen to go riding in the following weeks. You were with papa alone 2 weeks later and went East Coast to ride bicycles. This is a good week for father-son bonding :>

Hong Kong & Macau March 2017

Mummy decided to visit Hong Kong again (& Macau) as that is a familiar place which not much planning is required. Most importantly it is where Ah Mah would be keen to visit as well. As usual, only yourself, ah mah and mummy went for this trip. Though you were not too excited, it is a holiday away from Singapore and you were looking to take the SQ flight!

We stayed in Macau Venetian for 2 nights. It is a very nice hotel which all 3 of us were happy to pursue our own interest - ah mah visited the casino, mummy spent hours at the shopping mall and you were enjoying staying in the hotel room playing computer games!

When we returned to HK, mummy brought you to HK Disneyland. Most likely this will be your last visit as you have outgrown some of the rides. But it was still a very enjoyable day spent for you.

It was a short but memorable trip for all of us....

9th Years Old birthday

You turned 9 years old today. Time flies, it feels like yesterday when mummy checked in to the hospital to deliver you. It has been a wonderful 9 years - with challenges to manage, laughter and joy while watching you grow up. It is my blessing to have you, my son.

The week before, you requested to go Trampoline park to "celebrate" your birthday. Your only request is to invite your favorite cousin - Aidan. We should certainly have more family outings.

1st Guitar

You requested mummy to let you learn guitar after watching people singing and playing guitar in you tube. You aspire to be able to play the guitar as well as them. Mummy searched around and found you a young guitar teacher. To ensure that your interest lasts before getting you a guitar, mummy approached uncle Leng Hong for help - we ended up borrowing one of his guitars for your first guitar class. Uncle Leng Hong not only lent you his guitar but taught you about guitar.

After your first lesson, mummy decided to buy a guitar for you (acoustic guitar) from the shop which your guitar teacher works part time during weekends.

You were trilled to own your first guitar. Mummy hope you are given the opportunity to learn and be exposed to different experience. Have fun and looking forward to the day you can play a decent song.

Taiwan - Nov 2016

We had our family holiday in Taiwan, covering Taipei, Taichung, QingChing and Hualian. You claimed that you did not enjoy yourself but it is spending time with you that matters. You are growing up so fast and mummy needs to keep up with activities you like - spending time together as a family is definitely more superior than spending time in front of PC / phone :>

First Pony Ride

Today you took your first pony ride at the Bukit Timah Saddle Club. You were anxious at first but enjoyed the ride the moment you went on the back of the horse. After the ride, you told me you understand the difficulties to control and balance during horse riding. 

Mummy is glad that you are able to appreciate the challenges faced by others when you experience it yourself.

Crush

Mummy was caught by surprise when you told me you have a crush on someone! You even joke that it is a boy - of cos you were kidding...My guess it is someone from your English enrichment class but you are not willing to reveal. Mummy is finding it amusing as my "baby" is growing really fast. I want you to experience every phrases of life fully ....

Sydney - Jun 2016

It was mummy's first self drive trip without papa - just you, Ah mah and mummy. Mummy was the driver, tour guide, holiday planner, pay master etc.... It was quite stressful at times but spending 11 days with you and Ah Mah is definitely worth the stress. Though you still misbehaved at times, it was a relaxing and memorable trip. We stayed in a nice apartment, visited the market, apple farm, underwater world, zoo, opera house, and of course our favorite stall "Target" :>

Ah Mah's 71th Birthday

4 years ago, we took the picture at Genting when you were only 4 years old. Today, you have grown so much. Without fail, you will sit next to your favorite cousin (Aidan) during family dinner. Today is Ah Mah's 71 years old birthday celebration. It is such a joy to have dinner with our loved ones.

1st day @ School

You have achieved your new mile stone - today is your first day @ Shunqun Primary School. Mummy took leave to get you ready and send you to school. You were apprehensive on what to expect and kept asking me many questions like what would teacher be teaching, what do you do in class, what......till you were handed over to your teacher. All your worries were unfounded. You did well and said that you had fun at the end of the day. You have grown up, my baby :>

Got ready for school @ 12pm.

Brought you to the assembly hall and all children lined up orderly and sang national anthem and said the pledge. 

The above boy is your buddy from P5 (Edwin). He accompanied you during recess and waited patiently for you to finish your drinks.

The day ended with your form teacher bringing the class to the void deck of our flat. Mummy was eagerly waiting for you to find out how did your day goes. You looked happy and said it was good. Mummy is relieved that it went well and hope you enjoy the learning journey from now on.

Melbourne 2014

You were looking forward to our 12-day Melbourne Trip (22 Nov to 3 Dec) because you learned that there are Target stores in Australia where you could get your "skylanders"! As you have grown and understand the joy of holiday, you were counting down to the trip. We went with Ah Mah and papa - we traveled to several places with Ah Mah and this is an opportunity for mummy to spend time with you and Ah Mah which I don't get to during working days.

First stop - Philip Island, where we went for penguin parade, view koala bears, farms....great experience for you.

Next we went to Mornington Peninsula strawberry farm. This is your first time visiting a strawberry farm and tasting strawberry.

We started our Great Ocean Road drive the next day. Considering the number of hours spent in the car, you were considered well behaved. 

Thereafter, we drove to Grampians. You started to get impatient with the sightseeing. Luckily we managed to stop by a town before we drove to Grampians, that is where you visited the first Target store. With the toy you wanted, you were a happy boy again. The apartment which we stayed at Grampians has Kangaroos around the common areas outside our unit during evening time. Great experience.
