Ah Mah's 71th Birthday

4 years ago, we took the picture at Genting when you were only 4 years old. Today, you have grown so much. Without fail, you will sit next to your favorite cousin (Aidan) during family dinner. Today is Ah Mah's 71 years old birthday celebration. It is such a joy to have dinner with our loved ones.

1st day @ School

You have achieved your new mile stone - today is your first day @ Shunqun Primary School. Mummy took leave to get you ready and send you to school. You were apprehensive on what to expect and kept asking me many questions like what would teacher be teaching, what do you do in class, what......till you were handed over to your teacher. All your worries were unfounded. You did well and said that you had fun at the end of the day. You have grown up, my baby :>

Got ready for school @ 12pm.

Brought you to the assembly hall and all children lined up orderly and sang national anthem and said the pledge. 

The above boy is your buddy from P5 (Edwin). He accompanied you during recess and waited patiently for you to finish your drinks.

The day ended with your form teacher bringing the class to the void deck of our flat. Mummy was eagerly waiting for you to find out how did your day goes. You looked happy and said it was good. Mummy is relieved that it went well and hope you enjoy the learning journey from now on.

Melbourne 2014

You were looking forward to our 12-day Melbourne Trip (22 Nov to 3 Dec) because you learned that there are Target stores in Australia where you could get your "skylanders"! As you have grown and understand the joy of holiday, you were counting down to the trip. We went with Ah Mah and papa - we traveled to several places with Ah Mah and this is an opportunity for mummy to spend time with you and Ah Mah which I don't get to during working days.

First stop - Philip Island, where we went for penguin parade, view koala bears, farms....great experience for you.

Next we went to Mornington Peninsula strawberry farm. This is your first time visiting a strawberry farm and tasting strawberry.

We started our Great Ocean Road drive the next day. Considering the number of hours spent in the car, you were considered well behaved. 

Thereafter, we drove to Grampians. You started to get impatient with the sightseeing. Luckily we managed to stop by a town before we drove to Grampians, that is where you visited the first Target store. With the toy you wanted, you were a happy boy again. The apartment which we stayed at Grampians has Kangaroos around the common areas outside our unit during evening time. Great experience.

CNY 2012

Chinese New Year is a once a year occasion when we get to meet most of our relatives. Every year, we have a fixed schedule on when and where to go during the first 2 days of CNY. You enjoyed most playing with Aidan :>

Christmas 2011

You were looking forward to Christmas as you were told that Christmas and birthday were the 2 occasions you would receive presents. This Christmas was slightly different as we bought a Christmas Tree. Mummy bought this Christmas tree so that you could place your presents under the tree! Mummy organised a small party on Christmas Eve. You received many presents and had fun playing with Charlene jie jie, Lukas didi and Carrie jie jie, while mummy was busy entertaining our guests :>

Bangkok 2011

We went Bangkok with Ah Mah, Jui Jui and his family. You obviously did not enjoy the 4-day shopping trip, except the visit to Aquarium which you were totally amased by the creatures in the underwater world.

West Coast Park

Went West Coast Park with Chloe jie jie. You met a new friend there and was totally exhausted at the end of the outing.

Bottle Tree Park

We went to Bottle Tree Park with Gabriel Di Di and family. It was a fun outing and quality time spent with you and their family.

Drawing

You like to draw whenever you are in the mood. Some of the pictures are really quite impressive for a 3 year-old. But you are not consistent so each picture is unique piece of art as you are not able to repricate what you have drawn!

Cruise - 2011

We celebrated papa's birthday in Star Virgo (27 - 29 Jul 11). This is the first time you went on board a cruise. You had lot of fun.

Hair Cut

Ah mah was the one who brought you for haircut since you were a baby. Gradually you refused to let mummy accompany you for haircut which I find it strange. Today, mummy tried my luck again and you were actually accomodating and allowed auntie to cut your hair. You were reading comic while auntie cut your hair:> Mummy and papa were there watching you and taking picture. The hairdresser was feeling awkard!

Building Houses

You like to play with blocks and fixed a few buildings. When mmmy asked you who were they for, you pointed to the tallest building and said that is for yourself, building in the centre is for mummy and the shortest building is for daddy! I asked you why daddy's building is so short and you said: "because I have no more lego!".

Spot the Difference!

Your look so different now compared to months or years ago. You are looking more like daddy (at times - mummy is still in denial)! From this picture, mummy can imagine how you look like 40 years later - with some mustache, wrinkles and white hair!

Genting Again!!

We went Genting again but this time without daddy. We went with Ah Mah, Auntie Feng Mei and Auntie Lai Ling. It has been more than a year since we visited Genting. This time round, you were more aware of surroundings and really enjoyed the indoor theme park.

3rd Birthday Party

You kept asking mummy :"when is my birthday?"..Finally your birthday was here and we decided to throw a party since you were looking forward to your birthday so much. We invited our family members and some close friends. Your were not your usual self that day (due to lack of sleep) but nevertheless everyone had fun (esp the kids):>

Christmas 2010

We spent our Christmas differently this year - we spent it in KL. We were invited to Uncle Choon Kit's wedding on boxing day. This was the first time daddy drove us to Malaysia. We took this opportunity to spend a few more days in KL which was fun. The wedding plus the shopping plus time spent with you, daddy and Cuiyi ah yi's family was definitely amazing.
